Materials-handling specialist Combilift is thrilled to return to Ligna, where it will showcase its innovative range of safe, efficient, and space-saving materials-handling equipment, specifically designed to address the unique challenges of the woodworking and timber industry.

The Irish manufacturer offers a wide array of products, including multidirectional forklifts such as the C-Series and Combi-CB, the articulated Aisle Master, pedestrian stackers, powered pallet trucks, and Straddle Carriers, as well as the Combi-CSS for safely loading and unloading containers. Approximately 15 exhibits will demonstrate that Combilift has a solution for every handling and storage scenario faced by companies in the timber, joinery, and furniture sectors.

With a focus on greener technologies, 98% of Combilift’s R&D investment is directed toward energy-efficient and electric equipment, which now constitutes over 70% of their production. Visitors to Combilift’s stand at Ligna will have the opportunity to experience its electric range firsthand.

Combilift’s CEO and Co-Founder Martin McVicar explains:  “Sustainability is at our core – we’re highly focused on making our vehicles more environmentally friendly and helping our customers maximise their warehouse efficiency,”

It’s been two years since the last Ligna edition in 2023, which coincided with Combilift’s 25th anniversary and featured the launch of the multidirectional Combi-CB70E, a testament to Combilift’s commitment to the timber industry. This model is the most compact 7-ton counterbalance model on the market, designed with a small footprint and lateral movement capabilities that allow for easy navigation through confined spaces and narrow aisles, making it ideal for transporting long and bulky timber loads. Additionally, it received the prestigious ‘Ergonomic Innovation of the Year’ award at the most recent UK Materials Handling Association Awards due to its driver comfort features.

Martin McVicar added: “Almost every model in our extensive range of products is now available with electric power. The ever-increasing lift capacities will answer the demand for more powerful products, which at the same time help companies to achieve their aims for more sustainable operations”

Companies in the timber sector that utilize containers for transporting products—of which there are many—will benefit from the efficient and safe innovation represented by the Combi-CSS Container Slip-Sheet, also displayed at Ligna. With a capacity of up to 30t, it is designed for quick and safe loading and unloading of containers . This electric model can handle rough-sawn timber, flat-packed goods, and panel products efficiently, completing a full load cycle for a 40-foot container in under six minutes with just one operator.

Other exhibits will include multidirectional forklifts from the C-Series and CB ranges, sideloaders, and a full range of electric pedestrian units, such as the Combi-WR4 and the Combi-SC Straddle Carrier, designed to handle oversized loads such as modular buildings as well as containers.
