PCD Tooling divide their routers into five categories.
1+1
Diamond routers that are usually entry level cutters for companies moving into diamond tooling for the first time. They can be compression or spiral style, with alternating tip shear alignment and plunge facility. They instantly replace carbide tooling on their performance and lifespan.
2+2
Diamond routers are designed with more tips for cutting the material allowing a better quality finish and faster feed rates.
3+3/Turbos
These diamond routers are designed for a superior quality finish for very high feed rates usually used in mass production.
Nesting
Diamond routers that have design features for superior chip and waste ejection and higher geometries. They are usually smaller in diameter so that the customer can maximise their product from the material being used.
Specials
Diamond routers for rebating, rounding over, ballnose and the like.
Any profile design or specification made to customers’ requirements.

A tool may perform perfectly for one of our customers, but not another, even though they may be running a very similar product on a similar machine. That’s where we step in and do test cuts with different geometries and different grades to maximise the tools efficiency. We can advise on tool management and maintenance so we can create an individual bespoke service.
