Weinig UK In-House Event: The Small Workshop

Clare Hollister

It’s been said that the digital transformation holds the key to the future of manufacturing and for those manufacturers already adopting digitalisation in their workplace, increases in efficiency, performance and productivity are easy to quantify. However, for some companies, particularly smaller manufacturers, being able to invest in new machinery and the latest technology can feel somewhat out of reach. There is a myth that the costs involved are too prohibitive and the skills gap is already too wide for many to see a return on their investment but Weinig UK is setting out to dispel this myth with its three-day Small Workshop open-house.

From the 5th-7th March, dynamic-thinking businesses are invited to Weinig UK’s Abingdon-based showroom to explore compact automation at its best and to be introduced to simple and cost-effective solutions that make technology and automation a viable solution for all – even when facing a skills gap. With tailored machinery demonstrations taking place throughout the event on the  new Cube 3 four-sided planer, Profimat 30 automatic planer and moulder and Weinig’s Unicut P optimised, this is your opportunity to see how easy it is to take your production processes to the next level.

Mark Smith, Regional Sales Manager for Weinig UK says: “In 2024, technology is inescapable in modern-day manufacturing but it can feel overwhelming to take the next step. We want to help manufacturers break through this barrier by improving their understanding of the technology that has been designed especially for businesses like theirs and help them build the skills and processes they need to run a competitive and profitable business both today and in the future. Our Small Workshop event is part and parcel of this and centres around the MELTS concept: More Efficiency Less Traditional Skill. By showcasing the latest machines and software solutions for the smaller workshop, visitors will have all the information they need at their fingertips and benefit from tailored machinery demonstrations and dedicated one-on-one time with Weinig’s solid wood experts who will be on hand to help answer any technical and practical questions that may arise on the day.”
