Button-fix launches two new products

Clare Hollister

These new products will be ready for this year’s Professional Woodworking Show at the NEC, where visitors can be the first to see it for themselves.

They have expanded the range of applications for their award-winning, British-made, concealed panel fixings. The NEW Type 3 Flush extends their trusted push-fit fixing system for modern interior fit-outs and furniture construction, and is complemented by the Bonded Button Plate accessory, which enables the system to work with specialist panels that do not accept screws.

Seamless, face-to-face panel fixing with zero gap

Those of you who are familiar with the established Type 3 Button-fix will find the Type 3 Flush a practical evolution. While delivering the same proven push-on, pull-off performance as the original Type 3, the new version introduces a compact oval form that allows the Fix to be fully recessed into panels from 18 mm thickness, enabling panels to meet face-to-face with no gap in between.

The narrow shape also makes the connector particularly useful when mounting to thin battens or narrow frames, offering greater flexibility in situations where space is limited.

The Type 3 Flush maintains the reliability installers expect from the Button-fix system. Being compatible with its existing Button Marker tool and router Multijig, ensures familiar and efficient installation workflow.

Wherever panels need to connect cleanly, securely, and with simple push-on engagement, the Type 3 Flush provides a practical solution.

Flush. Flexible. Effortlessly precise.

Key features of the Type 3 Flush include:

  • Strong push-on / pull-off engagement
  • Ideal for fully recessed installation to achieve panel-to-panel contact
  • Also suitable for surface mounting onto narrow battens or frames
  • Face-to-face fixing with no gap
  • Simple push & click engagement
  • Fully recessed or surface-mounted installation options
  • 18 mm minimum panel thickness when recessed

Typical applications include furniture construction, panelling around window reveals, and mounting panels at end-of-run or in tight internal corners where only a push-fit connector will work.

A bonded solution for our push-fit panel connectors

Alongside the Type 3 Flush launch, Button-fix has also introduced the Bonded Button Plate, a new accessory designed for situations where panels or substrates cannot easily accept screws.

The Bonded Button Plate enables a Type 3 Button to be bonded to thin or specialist materials, making it particularly useful for applications such as solid-surface splashbacks that need to remain removable to access electrical or plumbing services behind.

Smarter solutions for modern installations

Together, the Type 3 Flush and Bonded Button Plate extend the versatility of the Button-fix system, providing installers with more options for cleaner detailing, tighter spaces, and challenging materials.

“The Type 3 Flush is all about achieving precise, face-to-face panel fixing with complete simplicity,” said Julie Freedman, Head of Sales & Marketing at Button-fix. “At the same time, the Bonded Button Plate gives installers a dependable way to use the Type 3 system on materials that can’t be screw-fixed. Together they expand the possibilities of the Button-fix range while keeping installation intuitive and reliable.”

Like all Button-fix components, both products are designed and manufactured in Britain, reflecting the company’s continued commitment to quality engineering, installer-led design, and practical innovation.
